CROPS is having a productive year. We successfully hosted workshops, including our most recent, “Career Paths in Core Facilities,” and earlier this year, "Finances for Graduate Students." Additionally, we welcome invited speakers from within and beyond UNL, contribute to the success of the PSI retreat, and facilitate collaborative problem-solving through our well-attended work-in-progress meetings.
Our social events are also a highlight of the year, through informal networking gatherings we foster connections and strengthen our community. All these events bring together students, postdocs, and faculty. We have also supported student and postdoc professional development, as we funded a record number of travel awards (8 in total) with plans to close the year with more funded awards.
We are deeply grateful to our partners, the Plant Biology student organization and PSI, for their continued generous support, as well as to all our donors. As we transition to a new board, we look forward to continuing our mission of building a strong, supportive, and vibrant community of plant scientists in 2025.
